What is an e-Tax bill?
An e-Tax bill is an electronic version of a paper bill that can be viewed and paid online. Instead of being mailed it is delivered to your email.
What are the benefits of receiving an e-Tax bill?
- Convenience - Download and print your billing information at your convenience.
- Enhanced Security - Replacing paper bills and statements with electronic versions allows you to reduce the flow of personal information from unsecured mailboxes, where it can be a target for theft.
- Conserve - Help the environment by saving paper and reducing waste.
How can I sign up for e-Tax bills?
Go to https://mcc.mptsweb.com/mcc/:
- Select “Sign Up”
- Read and accept the e-Tax bill Terms and Conditions
- Input the assessment parcel number (APN) and security details
- On successful login you should enter the “EBillCode” from the paper bill you received this year to enroll into e-Tax bills.
- You need to enter the “EBillCode” for each individual assessment parcel number individually as the code will be different for each one of them.
- Please complete your enrollment by clicking the validation link that will be emailed to you to the registered email address.
Do I have to pay a fee for the e-Tax bill service?
No, there are no fees to sign-up and receive the e-Tax bill, and there are no fees to pay by e-Check. Credit/debit card payments are charged 2.34% of paid amount by a third-party vendor.
If I enroll in the e-Tax bill service, will I continue to receive a paper bill in the mail?
When you enroll in the e-Tax bill service, the Tax Collector will send you a paper tax bill in the mail upon your registration for the current tax year in addition to an e-Tax bill. In future tax years for enrolled assessment parcel numbers (APN) following your initial sign-up, you will only receive an email when your e-Tax bills are available to view, print or pay online. You can always login to https://mcc.mptsweb.com/mcc/ to opt-out of the e-Tax bill service.
I just signed up for the e-Tax bill service. What will happen next?
You will receive an email confirmation regarding your new e-Tax bill account. You must confirm your request by clicking on the confirmation link within 24 hours to activate your new account. Failure to confirm will automatically cancel your account. Once you have confirmed and activated your account, you can add the parcels to be delivered as e-Tax bills. You will then receive an e-notification when the e-Tax bill is available to view, print or pay online.
How do I know that I have an e-Tax bill to pay?
Once you sign up for the e-Tax bill service, you will be notified via email when your next bill is available for review online.
I keep records of my paper bills. Can I save copies of my e-Tax bill?
Yes, you can save a PDF copy or of your e-Tax bill to your computer or print the e-Tax bill for your own personal records.
Can I still pay my bill by mail if I receive an e-Tax bill?
Yes, taxpayers receiving e-Tax bills can pay by mail or online (e-Check is FREE!). Click Here

My email address has changed. How do I redirect my secured e-Tax bill notifications to my new address?
Logon to your account at https://mcc.mptsweb.com/mcc/. After successful login from the dashboard, edit the email address associated with the assessment parcel. This will re-initiate your e-Tax bill registration process and you need to complete it by clicking the validation link that you will receive on the new email address.
I have forgotten my user name and/or password. What should I do?
We are integrated with external authorization providers and you will need to change your password or recover it based on the external authorization provider through which you have registered.
Can I switch back to paper bills in the future?
Yes, login to your account at https://mcc.mptsweb.com/mcc/. Navigate to the dashboard and you can unenroll from e-Tax bill for each of the specific assessment parcel by using the unenroll button in that assessment section.
Do I have to sign up for the e-Tax bill service to access my account information online or to pay my bill online?

I have signed up for e-Tax bills, but I did not receive an email telling me my bill is ready. Why not?
- Make sure you are not blocking emails from Shasta County or that your inbox is not full.
- Verify that the email address on our account is correct.
Can I have notifications sent to multiple email addresses?
Yes. You can have the notification sent to two email addresses, the primary and the alternative. Some taxpayers use this to send a notification to their work and home email accounts.
I did not sign up for e-Tax bills, but I received a notice on my tax bill that I did. Why?
Someone may have added your parcel number on their e-Tax bill account in error. To remove the assessment parcel number (APN) from the e-Tax bill service, email your request to ttc@shastacounty.gov
